It was a fabulous experience to visit this very old property of Fortune Port Blair yet very well maintained. When I entered this property I was awestruck by the entrance and then subsequently by the view it offers you. Located on one of the world's last outpost of virgin, natural rain-forest islands, Fortune Resort Bay Island overlooks the picturesque and pristine blue waters of the Bay of Bengal.

This is a beautiful sea-front family resort in Port Blair 15 mins from the airport and 10 mins from the town’s main shopping arcade. Being next to the sea, water sports/ snorkeling/ scuba diving activities can be easily organized from the hotel travel desk.

Built almost from the native "Padouk" wood, the beautiful red timber that is found only on the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and designed by Late Charles Correa, the architectural style of the hotel reflects the native life of the Islands and offers a gateway with a pace that is genuine, relaxed and unhurried.

I would like to congratulate the General Manager of this property  Mr. Thappa who is very passionate about his job of maintaining the property in a very conventional manner which is a rather difficult task. The way he deals with all the sectors in this property  is the only key to success in the upkeep of this property.

Early in the morning I woke up to an amazing sunrise which seems to rise from the horizon and is an experience of a lifetime.It is very rejuvenating to see the sea as far as far  the eyes can see. The morning offered the sounds of the chirping of the birds, the buzzing of the bees, moments which took me back to my childhood.

The housekeeping department of the resort surprised us  very often. Every corner of this beautiful casel was so clean and crystal clear and beautifully managed and maintained. The resort housekeeper Abhay Saxena  has made this resort and its  rooms more  unique with the help of many  beautiful things like free style flower arrangements, locally made amenities liners, freshen up service after every outing of the guest from the room, intricate land scaping, evening walks with guests in the spice garden and showing all this in a very unique manner. The resort is totally dedicated towards  safe ,hygienic,and excellent amenities which is there to made your stay memorable.

The bar offers an excellent selections of spirits, wines and beers along with lip-smacking snacks. Guests must try the fruity concoctions served in coconut shells –the barman’s specialty. This is one of the most beautiful bars, sea facing where one can enjoy a drink  with the cool breeze adding to the charm of this property.
