Malaysia Airlines: Adopted enhanced safety and health measures

Malaysia Airlines has proactively adopted enhanced safety and health measures at its Golden Lounges to help boost its guests’ confidence in travel whilst continuing to offer them a premium and personalized Malaysian Hospitality experience.
 
In line with this, Malaysia Airlines organized the first inspection at the airline’s Golden Lounges in KL International Airport, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Malaysia (MOH). The inspection was held to ensure that all the necessary COVID-19 related safety measures outlined are in accordance with guidelines set by the authorities before the reopening of its Domestic lounge on 8 July 2020.
 
 
Amongst the safety measures evaluated and recommended for the airline’s guests at the lounge includes the implementation of:
  • Contactless registration and temperature scanning;
  • Hand sanitizers at all critical locations within the lounge;
  • Social distancing seating arrangements and capacity monitoring;
  • Digital food and beverage ordering solution via QR code as well as ‘grab & go’ pre packed light meals; and
  • Adoption of heightened hygiene protocols at prayer rooms, family room and nap room

We are very grateful for the support and input from Malaysia’s Ministry of Health in developing these new SOPs, as we prepare to ramp up our operations to offer new experiences, authentic Malaysian cuisine and Malaysian Hospitality for our guests. Most importantly, we will continue to ensure that effectiveness of the preventive measures is aligned and in accordance with international best practices and recommendations.
