Q1. What do you have to say about your experience in hotelier industry?
It has been fun and a learning experience. The best part is that this industry has prepared me for both, work as well as personal life. The Hotel Industry is also an interesting space in terms of market trends and most importantly, dealing with different kinds of people on a daily basis. Every guest has a distinct requirement and there cannot be a better platform to build people skills than the hotel industry. I have also fortunately seen the transition and dominance of technology which had made things so much easier and yet the one thing that has been constant is a genuine human connection. It is must that you connect and offer care and warmth.
Q2. What is the highest purpose for which you do what you do?
I don't think there can be a higher purpose in life than giving back to the community. The hotel industry helps you give back and serve the society with a smile. My purpose is not just achieving some lofty goal, it is actually pretty simple. In that sense, it is not just about business but to work and contribute towards the betterment of the people whose lives we touch and the environment. We have guests from varied fields and there is a sense of fulfillment in genuinely taking care of people and showering kindness so they can be their best.
Q3. What are the most challenging aspects in hotelier industry?
The most challenging aspect is the constantly evolving market trends in addition to dealing with different guest expectations almost every day. Expansion means more trained man power that need to fully grasp and represent our values at the same level. So, you are constantly on your feet. Technology is evolving at a quick pace; hence, there is a need to maintenance balance between offerings fast pace communication while keeping human connect. In brief, never have the details and little things mattered so much.
Q4. Which factor makes the living of guest comfortable in Hyatt Raipur?
The most important factor would be to treat our guests with genuine care and offering personalized services. We also believe in treating our associates with care. We believe that if we take care of our employees, they can be their best and in return will take care of the guests, living the Hyatt purpose, “We Care For People So They Can Be Their Best”. Hence, what you find at Hyatt Raipur is a positive environment filled with vibrant employees happy to serve you.
Q5. What measure you have in terms of security of your guest?
Apart from the state-of-the- art equipment, we have trained all associates on regular basis to be observant and vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the security manager for necessary action. After all safety for guests and associates is the responsibility of all and not just that of the security department.
Q6. What role does your property play in boosting MICE business to the city?
Raipur being a fairly young city, MICE business has just started growing here. This is partly because Raipur is being identified as one of the new “Smart Cities” and a growing hub for new start-up businesses. Hyatt Raipur is equipped with a 4700 plus sq.ft banquet hall that further extends to an attached 6000 sq.ft outdoor terrace. It has been designed keeping the new age requirements of a business person in mind. Be it a corporate or leisure event, there is a trained team to handle small to mid-size events of different nature. The property is well equipped to serve the new business sector industry here.
