Union Tourism Secretary informed that First of its kind event, The “Incredible India Tourism Investors Summit” will be organized in New Delhi from 21st to 23rd September 2016.
This three day event will showcase the investment opportunities in tourism sector. The main objective of the Incredible India Tourism Investors’ Summit is to position the Indian Tourism sector for attracting large investments and presenting to the Investors tangible investment-ready projects in the different States/Union Territories of India. This summit will provide a global platform for interaction with investors, policy makers and Indian industry leaders, and other stakeholders.
The Confederation of Indian Industry and Tourism Finance Corporation of India Ltd are principal partners of this summit. Four Knowledge Partners i.e. Ernst & Young, KPMG, Yes Bank and Invest India will assist States and UTs for identifying projects, Suggesting Tourism Policy updates and presenting these to the potential investors during the summit.
Ministry of Tourism has discussed various aspects of the summit with the senior officers of the State Governments and Union Territories, so far 25 States have confirmed their participation in the event and have also identified 134 investment- ready projects. During discussions with leading Bankers and Financial Institution of the country, they have shown a great enthusiasm to be part of the event.
Continuing its efforts to take all stake holders onboard, a meeting with Trade and Hospitality Associations was heldunder the Chairmanship of Union Tourism Secretary. Office bearers of various trade and hospitality association along with senior officers of the Ministry discussed various aspects of this summit. Secretary Tourism informed that Road shows are being organised in key International Markets such as USA, Thailand, China, Singapore, Japan and Middle East. These road shows will be aimed to promote and invite key investors for this summit. Indian Missions in various key countries are also inviting potential investors for this Summit.
Highlights of this summit will be State Presentations encompassing all investible Properties, Session on Why Invest in India, MSME in tourism sector, Panel discussions on core infrastructure for tourism, Session on Start-ups, digital India, Investing into Swadesh Darshan, PRASAD, MICE and Niche Tourism Products, B2B meetings and signing of MoUs.
The Summit will have dedicated space for Seminars, Business to Business meetings and Roundtables around focus themes. There will be participation from major stakeholders including States/UTs with their ready investible projects, Banks & Financial Institutions, Business Developers, Cruise liners, Domestic Investors, Entertainment Companies, Global Investors, Helicopter Services, Hoteliers, Infrastructure-Developers, International Associations, Restaurateurs, Spa and Yoga Centers, Tour and Travel Operators, Urban Developers, Venture Capitalist, Civic Amenity Providers.
Secretary Tourism announced that this event will be organized annually, and the Ministry of Tourism will set-up an Investment Cell in the Ministry to Monitor and follow up on regular basis, the investment projects in the country.
