Honda Aircraft Company has announced its plans to bring the HondaJet 2600 Concept, a groundbreaking light jet, to the commercial market. Initially unveiled at the 2021 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), this new aircraft represents an exciting addition to Honda Aircraft Company's product lineup. The company aims to obtain type certification for the light jet by 2028, positioning it alongside their existing very light jet model, the HondaJet Elite II.
Receiving an overwhelmingly positive response since its debut at the 2021 NBAA-BACE, the new light jet promises to surpass the standards of typical light jets in terms of performance, comfort, and efficiency. Offering the experience of a medium-sized jet, it will become the world's first light jet capable of seamless transcontinental flights across the United States. The aircraft boasts a quiet and spacious cabin, perfectly suited for long-range travel, and can accommodate up to 11 passengers. Additionally, it is designed for efficient single-pilot operation.
Aligning with Honda Aircraft Company's commitment to reducing carbon emissions, the new light jet will deliver unparalleled fuel efficiency. It is expected to achieve up to 20% greater fuel efficiency compared to conventional light jets and over 40% better fuel efficiency than medium-sized jets on typical missions.

To support the realization of the new light jet, Honda Aircraft Company has secured partnerships with critical suppliers. Strategic supplier agreements have been established with Aernnova for aerostructures and components, Garmin for avionics, Spirit AeroSystems for the fuselage, and Williams International for engines. The engineering designs for the light jet are currently being finalized, and fabrication activities are already in progress.
